Good Talk ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Good Talk mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").
Your privacy is sacred to us.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our mobile application. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.
What Data is Collected
While using our Service, you will have the option to create scenarios that are relevant to you, and also have simulated conversations about them. Scenarios are public, while conversations are always private. Here are more specifics on what data is collected:
- Public Scenarios: Scenarios that you create within the application are made available for other users to practice with as well.
Please make sure to NOT include any names, or other specific details in a scenario which might help identify real people in any way.
- Private Conversations: Your conversations within the app are private and their content will never be shown to anyone else, or made available to 3rd parties for any reason unless we are required to do so by law, and even then, we will only comply with the specific requirements of the legal request.
This includes all coaching feedback during and after the conversation experience.
We prioritize your privacy and the confidentiality of your interactions.
We reserve the right to use anonymized snippets of conversations for marketing purposes.
Rest assured, these snippets will always remain anonymous, stripped of any personal data, and used solely to showcase the potential and versatility of Good Talk.
This helps us share the impact of our app with a wider audience while still upholding our commitment to your privacy.
- Application Identifier: When you launch the app for the first time it creates a random unique identifier (GUID).
This identifier is not tied to any device identifier, user account, or personally identifiable information.
This identifier is stored encrypted on your device using platform-specific secure storage mechanisms (iOS Keychain and Android Keystore) to protect it from unauthorized access.
On iPhones and iPads the identifier will survive an unstallation of the app, while on Android it will not.
The ability to reset or delete the identifier will be available in a future version of the app.
- Usage Information: We collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include details such as which conversations you try, the duration of your conversations, how many coaching requests that you make, and other metrics.
This data is used only for the purposes of ensuring a high quality of service of our users, tothe overall health of the Good Talk infrastructure, and for informing our future product roadmap.
- Payment Information: The Service collects donations from users. Your payment information is collected directly by Stripe, and is governed by their privacy policy. Payment information is not shared with Good Talk.
Good Talk does not collect any personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, or contact details. The application identifier is stored in a way that prevents it from being linked to an individual user or device.
Use of Data Collected
Good Talk uses the collected data for various purposes:
- The Application Identifier mentioned above is used exclusively to link your conversation scores together.
This enables the app to show you your overall conversation score, and also a breakdown by category.
The Application Identifier is not linked to any personally identifiable information, and not for tracking users across other apps or services.
Most importantly, it is not linked to any personal information, and cannot be used to identify you in any way.
- To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so
- To provide customer support
- To gather analysis of app usage so that we can improve our Service
- To monitor the usage of our Service
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues
Transfer Of Data
Your application data described above may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
Good Talk will take all the steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and no transfer of your data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.
